The Genesis of Clinical Handout

Recognizing the challenge of conveying complex cancer treatment information during brief patient encounters, they created Dr Elhag and Dr Anand created ‘Clinical Handout’. Dr. Dean Elhag and Dr. Kartik Anand, friends and triple board-certified specialists, identified a critical gap in patient and physician education. This open-source platform offers accurate, guideline-directed cancer handouts, empowering patients and providing physicians with valuable resources. By combining their expertise, Drs. Elhag and Anand aim to bridge the information gap in oncology care, addressing the growing need for accessible and comprehensive patient education.

What is ‘Clinical Handout’

Bridging the Information Gap

The co-founders recognized a significant problem in healthcare: despite technological advancements, there remains a substantial gap in patient information and comprehension. Studies have shown that a significant number of physicians report notable gaps in their knowledge of cancer treatment options. Clinical Handout aims to bridge this divide by:

1. Providing Material

Providing comprehensive educational materials for patients, physicians, and researchers

2. Enhancing clinical trial

Enhancing clinical trial enrollment through improved information dissemination

3. Connecting patients

Connecting patients to networking opportunities, foundations, and support groups

What is ‘Clinical Handout’

A Multifaceted Approach

Clinical Handout’s innovative platform addresses multiple aspects of patient care:

By offering easily accessible and understandable information, patients can actively participate in their healthcare decisions.

Physician Support

The platform provides up-to-date resources to help healthcare providers stay informed about the latest treatment options and clinical trials.

Research Advancement

By facilitating better communication between patients and researchers, Clinical Handout aims to accelerate clinical trial enrollment and advance medical research.
