What is Imatinib?
Imatinib (brand name: Gleevec) is a prescription medication used to treat certain types of cancer, including chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). It works by targeting specific proteins in cancer cells, slowing their growth or causing them to die.
How to Take Imatinib
